Why we created
Money First Aid
“Investing in financial wellbeing means a healthier, more engaged workforce.”
20.3 million people across the UK are living in financially vulnerable circumstances, including millions who are in work.
One in ten people have no cash savings at all, and a further 21% have less than £1,000 to fall back on in an emergency.
Financial stress is now one of the biggest workplace issues. 86% of employees say they're stressed about money, and two out of three say it affects them at work. One in three have taken time off because of it.
We don't always know which members of staff are struggling – or how. Money worries can affect employees at all levels of an organisation, regardless of their income, life stage or background.
Financially stressed employees are twice as likely to be job hunting, a third struggle to focus, and 12% take sick days due to money worries.
Financial wellbeing directly affects productivity, retention, and mental health, yet 76% of employees don’t tell their employer about money worries.
We created Money First Aid to equip teams with the skills and confidence to spot the signs, start supportive conversations, and signpost colleagues to the right help – using the power of peer-to-peer support so colleagues can support each other.
Our values
-
Real support for real people
We know money worries can affect anyone. That’s why we lead with empathy and focus on peer support — helping people have open, judgement-free conversations and be there for each other when it matters.
-
Professional & practical
Our approach is down-to-earth and jargon-free. We share tools people can actually use. Created by finance professionals, our training follows best practice and supports everyday workplace conversations.
-
Accessible for all learners
Everyone should feel comfortable talking about money. Our training is inclusive and approachable, with content that supports all levels of financial confidence and experience. We consider all learning needs.
-
With integrity and impartiality
We don’t sell products or push agendas. Our courses are independent and focused on what’s best for the individual, guiding people to trusted tools and services that are relevant to their situation.
