Specifically designed for Mental Health First Aiders

In your mental health first aid training you will have learned about the different risk factors that can impact poor mental health. One of the biggest contributors to stress and poor mental health is financial worries. This means that some of the people you will be supporting in your role will want to talk about the stress their financial situation is causing them. Being equipped with the additional knowledge and skills to do this can really enhance your confidence as a Mental Health First Aider.

Designed in partnership with Red Umbrella, experts in Mental Health First Aid training.

What you’ll learn:

  • Understand what is meant by financial health

  • Explain the role of a Money First Aider®, including boundaries of the role and the importance of confidentiality

  • Have an understanding of the most common financial challenges anyone can face

  • Recognise the signs of those who may be experiencing financial difficulties

  • Identify reliable sources of expert support, and effectively signpost to these when appropriate

  • Feel confident supporting colleagues experiencing financial stress

On completion of the training, you will be a Money First Aider®. You will receive a certificate confirming completion of the course and you can record 3 CPD hours.

Duration: 2-3 hours
